DeMolay does NOT require any relationship to a Mason for membership

DeMolay was founded by Frank Land in Kansas City Missouri, in 1919

– the methods of DeMolay provide an opportunity for a DeMolay to each of the items above, to include public speaking through involvement in our meetings and participation in our ritual.

– Advisors are appointed for a term of 1 year and must renew annually. To do so, they must complete the necessary renewal form, pay their annual registration fee, complete their annual Youth Protection Training and any other annual training required, be endorsed by their Chapter Chairman, and approved by their Executive Officer.

– The foundation of the DeMolay experience is for the boys to learn by doing. Consequently, the Advisors are to serve as the guardrails that keep them moving in a positive direction, while helping them to develop the skills they need to become better in all aspects of their daily lives.

– The Advisory Council must approve all expenditure of Chapter funds and document that approval in the Advisory Council minutes

– Unfortunately, there are no absolutes in risk management. The best we can do is to identify and eliminate as much risk as possible.

A sound Youth Protection program is a “best practice” for youth-focused organizations, but is not a requirement of insurance carriers or law enforcement. To our mind, it just makes sense.

All of the above set terms and conditions under which DeMolay International must ensure the safety and security of its youth members. Only the Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and Polices of DeMolay International dictate the creation, maintenance, and enforcement of the Youth Protection Program.

ZERO TOLERANCE MEANS NO TOLERANCE FOR VIOLATIONS OF ANY KIND

No ceremonies may be performed unless published in the DeMolay Ritual, or the Monitor of Ceremonies, or those approved in writing and in advance by the Executive Officer. There is an established process of securing formal approval for new ceremonies.
